Anna Calamis is a Master of Social Work student at Stony Brook University who is dedicated to creating transformative wellness spaces for marginalized communities. With a background in Sociology and Political Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Anna’s work is informed by a deep understanding of how systemic barriers impact individual and collective well-being. Her commitment to social justice was further solidified through her time in the Emerging Scholars Program, where she collaborated with peers and faculty to foster diverse, inclusive environments within institutional spaces.

At Root Salve Wellness, Anna leverages her extensive experience in mentorship and group facilitation to develop wellness workshops and support groups. Having served as a Figure Skating Coach and Camp Counselor for several years, she has a proven track record of helping individuals overcome mental and physical challenges by building trust-based relationships and fostering self-confidence. Her leadership as President of the Synchronized Skating Club (where she managed a 16-member team and oversaw large-scale fundraising efforts) demonstrates her ability to organize community-focused initiatives and maintain inclusive group dynamics.

Anna is passionate about the intersection of healing and community. She aims to empower marginalized groups through workshops that prioritize being "seen and heard," drawing on her administrative skills in Google and Microsoft Suites, Canva, and MailChimp to create accessible and engaging resources. Her goal is to facilitate environments where resilience is honored, and every individual feels empowered to reclaim their voice.
